That's awesome. I had never heard about Jeffers' tower. I am going to tell my husband about that tower and ask him why he's never built one for me.

Barbara B.

Oh how I would love this over looking the sea. A place where echoes in my mind come alive, dancing in the soft light of glowing candles.
Reflections of yesterday, reaching upward, along a spiral staircase to the stars.......

Elizabeth and Barbara B. - Thanks for the comments.

What a beautiful story, about love, poetry and perseverance.
While I've never been to Ireland, I have seen the towers in Tuscany.
I can't imagine how he lugged 300 lb rocks up from the beach, or how he lifted them in place on the tower. I wonder whether in a past life, he was one of the tower builders in Ireland or Italy?

Rosanne - He rolled them up - isn't that amazing? And he constructed some kind of a crane to put them in place.

It's almost like the builders of the pyramids! Rolling up 300 lb rocks how? and a hand made crane!
I look forward to seeing it.

Rosanne - And interestingly there are tiny chips from the pyramids that his friends brought back from their travels and he imbedded in some to the stone.

How on earth does one get chips from the pyramids? ooops... better that I don't ask.

I have a chip from the pyramids, when my daughter was doing her master in Israel she when there and knew what I wanted, she said they were lying all over.---Oh How I love stones, when I drive by stones, in cliffs, sides of roads, etc. I want to stop and get out and pet them. I haven’t been here for a long time. Recently I’ve acquired a get-away in the Hi-desert, and I have left the mountain snow for the winter. I am so peaceful here, and into creative writing classes—desert campus. But stones, plain rocks-I love them, I was an art major, when my husband took me rock hunting, I pick up some jasper and changed my major to geology. Carl Jung the Psychiatrist built a circle rock tower –doing all sorts of creative things in it. I have been writing poems and have them out looking for a publisher.

Environmentally sound air filters are where it's at.

When there is not an equal or fair representation of both gpruos, it is hard to get an accurate reading on the interests of both gpruos. The author should take this classic feminist complaint to someone really guilty. I dunno, the U.S. legislature, maybe? Or perhaps the New York Times? Yes, gender inequality is a problem but particularly in the world of journalism, it's absurd to suggest that men are the victims. Give me a break.

LOLWell, it may not be wholly "arbitrary," but it is more of a gdiueline than a rule. How about that.(PS. Try telling GRRM or Terry Brooks to "keep it around 80k")
