Thanks as always for your website, teaching and openness.

By the way (with reference to your prior blog and responses) sounds like a great idea if you allow others to post their 5-minute exercises here; it may make this site even more "robust". I learned so much from the feedback others were given in your class; perhaps some version of that can be replicated here.

As for the last line of the quote, "It is not for having your ignorance exposed, your sensitivity destroyed, or your ability assessed."...unfortunately that seems a part of the writing package, sort of like the invasion comes with fame (unless one knows how to keep the sacred stuff sacred...This, by the way, calls to mind a chapter from Laurie Beth Jones' book Jesus In Blue Jeans...."He Kept it Sacred.")

Reading Without Nonsense remains one of the most authoritative, influential, informative, and accessible texts on reading and learning to read. This bestseller is popular with classroom teachers and university professors as well as administrators, parents, and everyone concerned with literacy and education.

I found this on a Barnes & Noble book site. Apparently the book can still be purchased.

Sophia - I love 'keeping the sacred stuff sacred'

Barbara - Thanks for the info about the book!

Congrats on focusing on the meoimr, that's very exciting!!! I would say I'm drawn to meoimrs that are honest & really portray the emotions involved on a very real level. Best of luck to you:)
