I've had half a dozen really good ideas for this blog during the past week – mostly whan I'm walking Nelson first thing in the morning. Interesting stuff about writing, lots of inspiration - but you know what? I didn't write any of it down. I thought oh, I'll remember that, I'll write the post soon. And now it's Sunday afternoon and my head is empty. I have no ideas for a post. So at least I'll do what I always tell my students: write about not being able to write. Write about not having any ideas. Write about being frustrated. Write about how much better you'll be at this in the future and how you'll always carry a notebook. Get out of your own way and just write.
