Definitely looks just like him, and seems he had a great life in Santa Monica, too!

Dear Barbara,
I cannot find your email address. Have it some where.
In today's Wall Street Journal Saturday 4/23 -- section C page 12 is an article on Word Craft and writing that I think you would enjoy and could possibly use in your class on Courage and Craft or one of your other classes on writing. It is written by author Len Deighton on his process. I really enjoyed and thought of you.

Your brother rocks! Go Nelson.

The Santa Monica dog! Amazing!

Absolutely. If I could only give one piece of advice to wannbae authors, I'd say read as many good books as you can. Or maybe don't even pick up a pen until you've saved enough money to support an unhealthy coffee and chocolate addiction. One of those.

Kate: I've observed a three year old teach himeslf to read cursive. I don't think that there is any doubt about the ease of reading it (if it's written clearly). In Australia laptops are currently price competitive with desktop machines, and all the really cheap machines on sale are laptops (I just bought a $300 NetBook there's no way I could buy a new name-brand PC for that price). So it's safe to assume that people can keep using computers for at least two hours after mains power goes out and maybe as much as eight hours!

Hello again Victoria. You're on the staff at Brit Writers, aren't you? You probably ought to come clean, and start your mairevuenng now before it's too late. Don't you worry that as more and more of the truth emerges, you are going to look really eye-wateringly silly? This core group of staff seems to me to be making sure that your personal opinions are circulated within their networks. Is this right? Wrong but, as you know, deliciously ironic, eh?You go to the trouble of typing all of that rubbish, and oblige us to wait until the very end before revealing quite what an odious character you are. Poor show.Have you followed my advice from our last little chat, and expounded your views to the broadsheet press yet?I can only re-iterate what I told you last time: you really do fill a much needed gap.
